Bayesian Analysis of Survival Models with Bathtub Hazard Rates

چکیده
SUMMARY Nonparametric Bayesian inference using bathtub hazard rates in survival analysis is developed. A new simulation method, Auxiliary Random Functions, is introduced. When used within a Gibbs sampler, this method enables a uniied treatment of exact, right-censored, left-censored, left-trucated and interval censored data, with and without covariates. The models and methods are exempliied via illustrative analyses.

Modeling heterogeneity for bivariate survival data by shared gamma frailty regression model
In the analysis of survival data with parametric models, it is well known that the Weibull model is not suitable for modeling survival data where the hazard rate is non-monotonic. For such cases, where hazard rates are bathtub-shaped or unimodal (or hump-shaped), log-logistic, lognormal, Birnbaun-Saunders, and inverse Gaussian models are used for the computational simplicity and popularity amon...
متن کاملBATHTUB HAZARD RATE DISTRIBUTIONS AND FUZZY LIFE TIMES
The development of life time analysis started back in the $20^{textit{th}}$ century and since then comprehensive developments have been made to model life time data efficiently. Recent development in measurements shows that all continuous measurements can not be measured as precise numbers but they are more or less fuzzy. Life time is also a continuous phenomenon, and has already been shown tha...
متن کاملBayesian modeling of bathtub shaped hazard rate using various Weibull extensions and related issues of model selection
Bathtub shape is one of the most important behaviors of the hazard rate function that is quite common in lifetime data analysis. Such shapes are actually the combination of three different shapes and, as such, there have been several proposals to model such behavior. One such proposal is to combine at most three different distributions, often the Weibull or some similar model, separately for de...
متن کاملBayesian Analysis of Survival Data with Spatial Correlation
Often in practice the data on the mortality of a living unit correlation is due to the location of the observations in the study. One of the most important issues in the analysis of survival data with spatial dependence, is estimation of the parameters and prediction of the unknown values in known sites based on observations vector. In this paper to analyze this type of survival, Cox...
متن کاملOn Bayes inference for a bathtub failure rate via S-paths
A class of semi-parametric hazard/failure rates with a bathtub shape is of interest. It does not only provide a great deal of flexibility over existing parametric methods in the modeling aspect but also results in a closed-form and tractable Bayes estimator for the bathtub-shaped failure rate. Such an estimator is derived to be a finite sum over two S-paths due to an explicit posterior analysis...
